The Take On Adventure site is all about making adventure accessible. It’s about turning everyday life into something a little more interesting, exciting, and unfamiliar. We are only here on the planet for so long, so lets make the most of it–without abandoning the societal necessities like jobs and homes. There’s plenty of resources for that, but it isn’t what I’m after. I provide ideas for enhancing your day-to-day experience without tons of extra time or money, so that you aren’t left waiting until you can try something new, but can see that it’s accessible now.
The idea for The Take On Adventure came from looking for new things for my friends and I to do for fun. We lived in a small town and in high school we felt pretty limited to diner runs and movies, which get old fast. I started out by introducing one new idea to them, and then another, and then another, and now trying out ideas, recipes, activities, and trips is second nature and so rewarding.
Here on The Take On Adventure, I’ll share the results of trying a variety of artistic, culinary, and lifestyle ideas (including my ED recovery through intuitive eating), as well as provide readers with new ideas for incorporating adventure into their lives. Each post gives commentary on a personal experience of mine–the good, the “ehhh”, and the full-on failures– to allow you to take on your own projects with confidence (and succeed where I did not). Life is too short to wait for someday. Adventure is accessible and I want to help you find it today and every day.
